I am new to embroidery and am in the market for an affordable machine with a larger than 5×7 emb.area. Does anyone know a price range for the Brother Innov-is1500?

My machine tells me (at times) that the pattern I select is to big even though it was only 4 letters. Then another time it let me make 6 letters. How can I decide where it embroiders in the square? The one time I got it to embroider the name I wanted it only used about 1/8th of the space that it could have. How could I have made it fill up the extra space. Any links for beginner embroiders would help also.
I have read some of the manual. I do find it a bit confusing, but then other parts seem so well explained. For example it told me to put the fabric in the rectangle (sorry for my lack of proper terminology) then to take it out and put it back in. Maybe I read it incorrectly or didn’t understand exactly what it was telling me but I could not figure out why I should do that.

Does each brand of machine only accept certain memory cards? I also see that you can purchase blank memory cards. How would you use those? Do you put pictures on there? I am not sure how to do that, at all…?

Added Info: I was looking at this machine online. I was hoping to spend no more than $2,500. This machine is on sale for $1999.00 which I thought would be a good place for me to start. Can you give me an idea of what a good machine will cost? I agree re: the USB port and I will look into that. I am not too computer saavy, so I am hoping that I will make the best decision. i just started to use this machine and i put pink on the top and white in the bobbin, my name i was embroidering came out all white why is this it is a brand new needle and the right stabilizer for the fabric im using

I am new to USA. I am planing to buy this particular Brother model SE270D. The machine says computerized. what does that mean. I know basic tailoring/embroidery. I have not handled any embroidery machine. Will this be difficult to follow? The machine does come with a lot of designs.But most of those mikeymouse etc I may not use at all. Is there any provision to load my own created designs on to computer modify the format and load it onto card and the machine? Also I plan to take it to India in a year so any idea if there would be any problems that may be possible? Accordingly I will decide on buying either a normal machine and embroidering by hand or a SE270D. anyone who si using please help.would there be classes that BROTHER would offer? anyone has attended the class please help

In 2002 I bought a brother embroidery machine and Pe-
Design 4.0. I am on a fixed income and can not afford to upgrade my Pe- Design software. My granddaughter got a hold of my security dongle and put it somewhere and I can not find it to save my life and she is to young to understand when I ask here where it is. My question is this. Has someone upgraded and have a security dongle I might be able to purchase? I have all of the software, the reader/writer, blank memory card and am just missing the security device. Without it I can not create designs for my grandkids. I have tried some free downloaded software but the design looks fine on the screen but awful when I try it on the machine. Please if anyone can help me I would appreciate it. Thanks In Advance

I have a Brother PE-150. Apparently the little nut that is on the screw for the hoop is stripped. Any suggestions on finding: a new hoop, or a new screw/nut combo? It’s a relatively small hoop, 4×4″ I think is the inside stiching area. Thanks!

I have a brother PE-150. I had a little “mis-hap” with a canvas tote bag. I’ve been using fine, sharp pointed scissors, with a little success. It is just very time consuming. I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with the “electric clipper” looking stitch erasers…or any other ideas to take out my stitches that were messed up! Thanks.

Every time dealer is charging so much of amount for small repair…its only 2 years old and model number is brother innovis 4000..I know its does not have much issues…whenever some issue comes the delaer aks me to replace the part which is very expensive and its eating my embroidery business….I heard there are some local reparers…please let me know if u know any one…its very urgent and imp for me…I will be very greatful..thanks in advance.

I saw this embroidery machine on their website, and I would like to know how much it costs to buy and to rent. I know I can call and ask a dealer about it, so please don’t write that as a response. I thought I would be your feedback and thoughts about this machine. Has anyone seen it in action? Is it worth it? Thanks!

Upon a recommendation I purchased the Amazing Box Max software with a PES embroidery card. When I inserted the card into my machine I got an error message stating “this card can not be used on this machine. All information in the Amazing Box card & software say the card is compatible. Is this card bad, or does the 350 need a specific pes card? I am at a loss.

I have a brother SE-350, I’m in the middle of an embroidery project and I ran out of bobbin thread. I can’t find anything online or even on the disk the machine came with that says what to do about this problem. I tried saving the pattern I was working on and then removing the hoop and installing a full bobbin, the only problem was the machine no longer knew where it left off on the patter I was doing, so the thread became tangled and I had to pull all the stitches out. Anyone ever have this issue, I’m sure someone has. How do I solve the problem?

I just purchased the Brother SE-270D Disney embroidery machine. How do I convert downloaded designs from my computer to the memory card that fits into the machine? Is this possible? Or am I limited to designs found only on pre-loaded cards?

I have a Brother Pe 700 Embroidery machine. I am trying to embroider a word on a tee shirt. The letters are about half inch but they pull the fabric and once done the writing is “crooked”. Does it have to do with “pull compensation” or with type of stitch? Please give details. Thanks

I own a Brother Disney embroidery machine and I tried to place a memory card in the slot (Using the Manual) when I turn the machine back on the LCD screen is lit up but blank. Does anyone know what to do! Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I bought the card on ebay and it said that it could be used in all Brother machines! It has on it Babylock/brother/deco & compatible card.pes. Thanks for your response
