Which machine embroidery thread has good price point and performs well?

I purchased a new Brother 6800 Project Runway sewing/ embroidery machine. The local sewing center emphatically suggest Maderia ONLY. Are there safe alternatives?

Are expensive sewing machines incredibly better than cheap ones?

I am thinking about replacing my basic mechanical Brother sewing machine that I’ve owned for 20 years or so. I am wondering if the much more expensive machines are worth the big price – what is so much better about an electronic machine? I don’t want an embroidery machine. I have no trouble threading the old machine. I do have trouble with skipped stitches on knits sometimes even with the correct needles & wonder if a more expensive machine does better (I do as many steps as possible on my serger, but don’t have a cover stitch option, so I have to hem on the regular sewing machine, and then skipped stitches show). I am not sure if people are willing to spend many hundreds of dollars on a machine that is only somewhat better, because they are higher income people & it’s no big deal to spend money like that (or very serious hobbyists), or if those machines are totally worth it. I’m low income, but do sew a lot, so if such a machine is a vast improvement, it might well be worth it, but several hundreds dollars is a lot for me & that’s why I’m asking if these machines are much better or just a little bit better.

I am able to service my own mechanical machine, since I’m pretty handy, and could probably even replace the belt if it broke, but would I be able to service a more expensive machine? i’m not clear on why new, expensive machines are electronically controlled when they are not embroidery machines – I don’t know what the advantage is.

Thanks for any advice!

Brother Embroidery Software questions!?!?

Hello.

I recently purchased a Brother SE270D Sewing/Embroidery machine. I have not yet received this machine but I’m wondering what types of software are good for embroidering? I know it comes with some built-in designs, it also comes with a memory card slot, to add more.

I would like to buy one that will allow me to upload my OWN drawings and designs to embroider.

Does anyone have any idea which software I would need in order to accomplish this?

Thank you so much for your help!
Great!! Thank you both so much!!! I can’t wait to get one and get started!!

Where on the internet can I find instruction on embroidery digitizing?

I have a Brother sewing/embroidery machine. I keep reading about digitizing but I cannot find any info. Please Help!

Which Chinese manufacturers make Brothers’ sewing and embroidery machines?

I am interested in purchasing a machine similar to one of Brother’s sewing and embroidery machines from their Project Runway line; however they are all over priced and only sold at their select retailers. I want to know which companies make the machines that Brother sells under the Brother name.

Does Brother sewing machines require Brother thread ?

I see from product reviews that some folks are having trouble with bobbin thread tangling on Brother sewing/embroidery machines. Is is because they require special thread for the bobbin ?
