I need a very small (well, several of them) piece of felt for a label on a very small toy. The toys are about 4 inches long. For example, one is a crocheted jelly jar. I simply need a label for it, so it would probably be no bigger than 2”x1”. So is it okay for me to use the cheap felt sheets found at Wal-mart? I’m trying to keep costs for this project down. I need to be able to embroider words onto the felt also, with embroidery thread/or floss. Actually, I’m not sure which of those to use either. The toys will be machine wash/dry as far as the yarn goes, so it would be great if the felt was too. However, it’s not absolutely essential. So any advice would be great.

Where can I find the Brother PED Basic at? Only on the internet? or can I find it in a store? I am having NO LUCK!! The cheapest I can find it is at WalMart.com for 130.00… any suggestions? I should have known I should have asked before I purchased this machine. I was expecting the type that hooks directly to my pc. GUESS WHAT…….. It doesnt and I want more than the designs that are programmed in my machine. Most of them are CHEESEY! lol….. hahahahahaha

Well we finally got one we were so excited but I would like to know what would you do if the instructor. who you took the class kept refering to other embroidery machines and refers to this on as a cheap and not to good of one? when we did work with it we loved it….should we tell the owner of the shop were we got it from?

My husband is easy to shop for – but that’s the problem.. I want to get him everything that he likes!! He likes comic books (espeially spiderman, ironman, and green lantern), the Pittsburg Steelers, several movies, etc etc…

I’d get him a plain zip-up hooded jacket, probably black or grey. I have an embroidery machine that I rarely use, but I can embroider things all over the jacket like.. the green lantern symbol, a spider, the Stark logo, um.. the stealers thing, etc etc…

What do you think? Is that being cheap? Is it too nice of a gift since it’s personalized and I’ll just be getting store-bought things? Do you think it would look stupid with football, comic book, and movie logos all over it since they really don’t have anything in common other than “things my hubby likes”?

Maybe something like doll clothes or something neat for babies. I would like to do baby blankets where I can embroider their names or some type of picture or logo. Maybe whatever the mother has for the theme in the baby room. The problem is I want to find something that don’t have to much money in it to make. baby blankets are hard to sale with the price I need to price them at in order to make anything on them. I make cloth diapers and various clothing items, and I want to put my company name on them. I have seen people selling custom labels and even instructions on how to make your own custom labels. But I thought I would check here first and see if anyone can offer any advice.
And I do not have an embroidery machine. And I don’t want to use the cheap iron-on transfer paper, because it will peal and wash out quickly.

I’m fairly knowledgeable about sewing machines, but haven’t the slightest clue about embroidery. I want to embroider a company logo on a few polo shirts for a friend. Small text blocks in the left chest area.
What machine is a good one to get started, considering I have no knowledge of embroidery machines? Something easy to learn that will do…say…a 4 x1 text block?
Also something that doesn’t cost a fortune, considering this isn’t a huge project. I’m sure I’ll use the machine in the future, but I’d rather not spend $1000 on something I’m still learning.
I’ve seen the $500 price range to be about average…?

Awhile ago I found a cheap home embroidery machine on the internet, now I cant find it. Will someone help me find the cheapest machine that will:
1) Let me take anything I want that is saved on my computer and embroider it. (I want to have people send me their band designs)
2) Will let me embroider on tee shirts without breaking needles. (I don’t care if I have to do the pattern section by section because of the hoop size)

I just need a basic one that does lettering. No pictures or anything super fancy, but one that still allows me to do different fonts and different sized lettering. I already have a regular sewing machine, so I don’t even need it to be a combo sewing machine, but if a combo is cheaper, as long as it is still good, let me know.

Interested in operating a small embroidery shop with capacity to do embroidery on apparel (shirts, capes, bed sheets etc) and leather articles (bags, belts, capes and hats, wallets etc) .
