Can someone edit this 10 points!!?

Me and my partner Cassidy, chose this song because we both enjoy listening to it. It’s a well known song with catchy lyrics.
“Thunderstruck” is the first song on the 1990 AC/DC album The Razor Edge.
‘Thunderstruck’ by AC/DC was released in 1990. It was recorded in January 1990. ‘Thunderstruck’ was written by Angus Young, the lead guitarist Malcolm Young being rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist. The song was produced by Bruce Fairbairn. The song is considered to be hard rock, heavy metal and it is listened to and enjoyed by people of all ages. Thunderstruck was on the charts for 5 weeks in a row, near the time it was released it reached rank 13 by it’s last week. Some people suggested that the song was written about Angus Young’s experience when a plane he was on was struck by lightning. This song is a world wide known song, listened to and it was used in a series of commercials in Australia, this was used in commercials for the Holden Commodore SS Ute. The commercials were about an Australian Built Ute making a storm in the outback. The Song has been used in a countless number of movies including, Varsity Blues, Longest Yards, Hot Rod ect…

During the campaign of 2004, Steven Harper now Canada‘s prime minister has named “Thunderstruck” as his favorite song.
“AC/DC” is the abbreviation for “alternating current/direct current”.  Malcolm and Angus Young came up with the idea for the name when their older sister, Margaret saw the initials “AC/DC” on a sewing machine.
The members of the band felt that this name represented the band’s energy, and power-driven. “AC/DC” the band is usually known as “Acca Dacca” in Australia. The band members in AC/DC while Thunderstruck was recorded include; Brian Johnson – lead vocals, Angus Young as lead guitarist , Malcolm Young on the rhythm guitar, Cliff Williams played the bass, Chris Slade on the drums.
AC/DC has sold more than 200 million albums worldwide. Back in Black alone has sold an estimated 49 million albums worldwide, making it the the 2nd highest-selling album in history behind Michael Jacksons thriller album. AC/DC had their biggest hit in 1981, ‘For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)’, The song reached #1 on all the charts.
AC/DC ranked fourth on VH1’s list of the 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock, and 7th on  “The Greatest Heavy Metal Band of All Time” made by MTV

Is my Statement of Purpose good? Its for an art school.?

Could anyone here be so kind to read my draft and tell me if it’s good?
It’s my statement of purpose for Savannah School of Art and Design. Is there something I need to add or take away?

This will be the second time I apply to SCAD for the fashion design program, and there is no other school I would rather go to than yours. Last year, I was accepted, but was unable to attend due to unexpected financial problems in my family. I was faced with the difficult decision to stay home and help my family, which while I do not regret, did set back the goals I have. However, during the year I did not attend school, I was able to not only develop my fashion design skills, I also grew and developed as a person. Now I have seen how hard life is without a proper education, and I do not want that. My father does not support the idea of me attending an art school, and encourages me to remain in the work force and stay home to help the family. But I know I have so much to offer and I am more than motivated to succeed and become a fashion designer that one day, even my family can be proud of.

Realizing I would not be able to attend SCAD last year was very hard, as I know this is the school that can help me achieve my goals. But I wasn’t going to stop pursuing my dreams. I got a full time job in order to bring money to my home, and whatever I had left, I saved in order to start working on a new portfolio. The first thing I bought when I had enough money was a sewing machine and fabric. I began experimenting with construction, and making patterns. I bought more fabrics, and worked on designs in my free time. I’m drawn to dramatic, artistic and innovative pieces, but have also started to think about the commercial and retail aspect of fashion. However, I need the proper education in order to learn construction and bring my visions to life. My ultimate goal is to create clothes that make women feel confident, powerful and beautiful; but at the same time, be fashion forward and bring innovation to the industry.

My artistic abilities will not be the only thing I can bring to your school. By my senior year, I was involved in seven different clubs. This included being a leader and taking many people’s views into consideration. I was the president of the Art Club, bringing art into the school with projects that helped students develop their art skills regardless of artistic abilities. Being on the tennis team helped me keep physically fit, while being in EDGE club, a Christian group, allowed me to strengthen my religious beliefs. Other groups I was part of were Photography Club, Yearbook and Teenage Republicans. The one club I am most proud of being a part of is the Student Council Association. In this club, I was able to make a change in the way the student body was represented. I worked hard so that diversity was not a problem in our school, but an asset.

If given the opportunity to attend SCAD, I will not take things for granted, and devote myself to being a valuable member to your school both in artistic achievements and community involvement. I have the motivation, drive and spirit to go far, but I need the opportunity to make my abilities reach full potential.

CAN YOU HELP ME FIND THE NAME OF THIS SONG I REALLY REALLY LIKE IT AND I WANT TO KNOW THE NAME OF IT?

don’t watch Nip Tuck. But on a commercial advertising that show, there is a song being play that I really like. Its the most current advertisement for the show. They play it on USA all the time. Its the commercial where theres girls on sewing machines and then at the end theres a guy lacing a girls skin like a corset on her back. What is the song being play throughout that commercial??

How can I motivate myself to sew again?

I am a doll collector and used to sew for my dolls. That is until I gave up collecting one line of dolls and had to sell off their clothes separately. Granted the line I gave up was not one of the popular dolls, but I effectively had to give the stuff away for far less than I put into it given the accessories and shoes and everything else.
It caused me to believe that my stuff is worthless.
Now, I am no seamstress and I still sew on a 1954 Singer, but I purchased an over-lock machine so that I can finish the seams more professionally. I line everything and I choose fabrics that are tasteful and even expensive.
I want to sew to sell for the holidays. It is too late for back-to-school. I might do one or two fall outfits. But primarily I am looking at Christmas.
Still, every time I go near the sewing machine I feel a sense of utter defeat.

The dolls that I am interested in are not American Girl dolls. The market for those is totally glutted.
I want to sew for Magic Attic dolls. Enough people still collect those and there are no commercial clothes available for less than an arm and a leg.

So I guess the problem is getting started. Gosh knows I have enough fabric.

Do you have any words that will make me stop dreading facing the machine?
lol! You and I are alike. As long as there is a design element to it, I am interested.
And considering the fact that you sew teeny tiny and I only have to sew middle range it makes me feel better. I am going to start tomorrow. Really, not kidding. Well, we’ll see tomorrow.

What’s this comedian’s name?

There was a comedian I saw the other day, I think it was on comedy central.

He had kind of a goofy voice and kept joking about being gay. I think he said something about stickers on a sewing machine.

He’s in the new esurance commercial. The get animated one. He’s sitting there playing guitar and singing.

I really need to know what this guy’s name is.

ZAP brought up a good point. Name me one successful person who was home-schooled. How’s this?

Hello Obama Lied Trillion$ Died (obamalied.billionsdied),

You have received a message from another user!

From: Zap

Subject: PUH-LEEZ

Message: I repeat myself…”Home-schooling” does not equate to being “self-taught” because society in the days of Di Vinci, etc. lacked the means to educate the masses…I already told you that. Every person on that list was either taught by a private tutor because the family was rich enough to afford one or were self-taught because they had the motivation and drive to get out of the poor house their family was in and public schooling was not available. C’mon…you can’t be that gullible.

What are some areas I need to focus on to improve my sewing skills?

I want to really improve my sewing skills a lot by the end of this year.I’m aware that the only way to do that is to continue practicing but, there are certain things that I feel I should focus on in order to be where I want to be.

Currently I know how to use commercial patterns and read them accurately.I know how to use a sewing machine with ease and I have one of my own.I’m aware of how most garments are constructed and I know all the different terms that go along with some garments and how to make them(ie:pleats, darts, gathers etc.)

So I guess you could say I’m pretty much a beginner past a beginners stage.I’ve only been sewing for a few months now and I’ve made two unfinished items. The first being a jumpsuit which needs a a lot of altering. The second garment I made was a dolman sleeve top which needs a lot of help but overall looks good appearance wise.

My main goal with this is to be able to create my own designs.I don’t necessarily want to be a fashion designer when I’m older (I’m 17) but,I have a certain way I would like to dress and the only way to get that look is if I make the looks myself. Not only that but,I gather inspiration from fashion all the time so it’s natural I guess for that to cross over into me wanting certain “looks”.

Anyways like I was saying I want to be able to create my own patterns and I want to just really improve my sewing skills overall. So what are some things that I should focus on in order to be where I want to be?How can I start making my own designs?

I’ve been wanting to get back into sewing recently after not having touched a machine in 8 years…?

Most of what I know was what my grandmother taught me on her old Singer 5528 when I was a kid in the 80’s. I’m planning on buying a new Singer and I’m baffled by all the ‘new’ features on machines nowadays! The following are my basic questions:

Are most machines really plastic now? Even the Singer Inspiration(s)?

Is a one-step buttonhole really that much easier?

Do I truly need an automatic needle threader?

Is an LED light brighter (and not as HOT) as a lightbulb?

What about automatic tension? Yes? No? Irrelevant?

Finally – between the machines in the Singer Inspiration line and the Commercial Grade line what’s gonna be most comparable in quality to my grandmother’s machine? I’ve heard even the CG’s have plastic parts that don’t last!

Guy with a lien on my things sold them in an auction after judge signed restraining order how can i track it.

This relates to my earlier question. I flew to Ok. and went to court. Judge said go by with sheriff and do inventory, Everything was gone. I think he did Ebay auction, on Sept 30th. I can identify jewelery, commercial sewing machines-everything if I can just see pictures posted on-line, but I just don’t know how to do it. thanks for any help in advance…………..Kimmie

Singer sewing machines which one??

I have visited my local Singer dealer and have tried both of these machines. Having a difficult time deciding between the Singer CG590 Commercial Grade and the Singer Quantum 9910. Both machines are heavy duty and fit my sewing needs. I’ve searched for customer reviews for both machines with limited results. Please help me decide which machine to purchase.
Thanks in advance,
Issy

how can I fix my sewing machine?

I have a singer sewing machine. When I turn it on I can hear the gears moving but nothing happens. I think the belt has come loose. It’s a CG 500 commercial grade singer. I just need to know if anyone else hashad that happen to their machine and if I can fix it. I work alot of hours and all the repair centers are closed when I am out of work, otherwise I would just take one there. Is it safe to take my baby apart. The reason I bought it was because of the all motor workings, thought I could work on it myself, but I don’t want to damage anything. Thank you, I hope that I can find an answer.

Sewing Viking 116 vs. Commercial?

I recently purchased a Viking 116 and a Singer Serger 5-thread I am looking to start my own clothing line. I have seen that I need to purchase a second machine just in case it breaks down and I need to get it repaired and I have no machine. But my main question is will my Viking be good for everyday use since it is not a commercial machine. Any advice would be most helpful thank you in advance

Please help me pick the right sewing machine!?

Ok, so I am not so new at sewing, I have used my mothers for years. Nothing special, but i am looking into buying a new one! I want something that is commercial or industrial grade (so that i can sew leather, for couch cushions, and canvas for boat tops) but I would also like it to do normal odd jobs around the house, doll clothes, quilts, ETC. Please help me pick!
Thanks

Sewing Machines?

I’m doing a project for one of my classes and I have to write a commercial about a sewing machine. Well one of the features is a button holer. Can anyone tell me what a button holer actually does?? And what about different stitches what do they do? I need to gain as much information as I can. Thanks for helping!

Who makes a “decent” sewing machine for a 11 year old girl to start out on?

What do I need to know about them, such as features?
Not a toy, but not a commercial type either. I have looked at store ads pn line, but really have no idea what does what. She has taken a sewing class at school and naturally wants one of her own.

Any ideas or info would be appreciated. Thank you.

Where is the website for New Home Sewing Machines to get manuals for home sewing machines (not commercial)?

Brand new sewing machine won’t work?

I bought a new Singer CG-590 and when i got it, the machine froze up after about 3 minutes of sewing. Sent it back, got a new one, and the same thing is happening! It’s like the machine can’t penetrate a certain thickness of fabric. I’m trying to do a blind hem stitch, and the machine works okay for the 4 stitches to the right, but each (and every) time the needle swings to the left to catch the fabric (where it’s 4 layers thick), it stops like it has hit a wall. The fabric is not thick at all! Four layers of thin cotton is nothing this commercial grade sewing machine shouldn’t be able to handle.

It’s hard to think I’d end up with 2 dud machines, so is it possibly something I could be doing? It’s brand new out of the box so it shouldn’t be accumulated dust, thread, etc. It feels almost like a weak motor. Anyone know if this is a bad model with known issues?

Thanks!

Can anyone recommend a sewing machine for sewing heavy duty fabrics?

Wondering if I should get a commercial machine or if I just need something special for the machine I have (Kenmore). I make purses out of Japanese obi fabrics and the thickness is really taking a toll on my machine. When I add in the lining, interfacing and trim it is pretty tricky to get it all under the presser foot.

what is the name of the instant button sewing machine from TV commercial which looks like a gun?

What is the best top of the line industrial/commercial sewing machine?

I am planning to open up a business of my own fashion line and I want to invest in a REALLY good machine that can handle heavy duty, layers of fabric, and abuse (hours of sewing). Cost does not matter, just throw the name out to me and I’ll check it out. I want something fairly medium size and not honking big with a table like in the factories, something I can put in my home, but not stick out like a sore thumb (yes looks matter too), and not loud. Thank you so much, I appreciate your reply!
Also, it doesn’t necessarily have to be an industrial/commercial sewing machine. Just as long as it follows with my description, I’m all in for it.

The Complete Photo Guide to Sewing

Product Description
- This complete sewing reference is the foundation of the Singer Sewing Library.Amazon.com Review
Sewing garments and home-decor items does not have to be mutually exclusive; there are certain skills and fields of knowledge peculiar to each, and there are some areas of overlap. Remarkably, this extremely comprehensive, heavily illustrated volume manages to do justice to both apparel and decor techniques, from the rudiments of the sewing machine and other essential equipment to an exploration of fabric types, from taking proper measurements (of people as well as of windows and tables) to learning all the basics as well as more advanced skills for many kinds of sewing: women’s wear, including tailoring; activewear, including swimsuits; babies’ and children’s clothes; window treatments, pillows, bed coverings, and table linens. The section on making custom alterations to store-bought patterns is especially helpful for garment sewers perpetually frustrated in trying to achieve a perfect fit. Novices will find this a very useful reference in understanding the often-cryptic instructions of commercial patterns; experienced sewers should have this guide on hand to help them achieve thoroughly professional results. –Amy Handy
