I want to buy a machine for sewing my clothes, curtains, etc. with a bit of embroidery work. I am confused which machine should i purchase (mechanical/computerized/etc etc). I want to utilize christmas sales so please if you have used and could recommend any good ones. Thanks!

I need to hire a computerised embroidery machine (I am london based) for a project at home, do you know any places that hire them for a weekend. It’s to sew exact names to some fabric, free machine embroidery on my home lock stitch is too messy for this i need a precide job and do not want to take the iten to a shop, I’d like to do it myself……….

I have a Brother’s Computerized EX660 sewing machine. I am making a heart pillow with the word Amour (in cursive) on the front. The problem is that I do not know how to sew it on. The pattern tells me after I transfer the lettering, pin the braid over the lettering and sew. Well I do not have a embroidery machine or the embroidery pressure foot, but I have a monogramming pressure foot. I do not want to sew this by hand. Please give me some advice on how to sew this braid on the pillow.

It is computerized and has several built in designs, I’d like to make my own designs and scan them into the machine if this would be possible. I would like to buy a sewing machine for simple clothing construction – mostly skirts and dresses – and don’t want to spend more than $100-$150. Can you recommend a basic model that is of good quality? I don’t need fancy stitching, computerized embroidery, or any of that stuff.

Trying to decide what kind of sewing machine to get. I’m essentially a beginner, interested in quilting, making stuffed animals, and clothing. I’ve gotten conflicting advice regarding computerized vs mechanical machines.

I’ve had people tell me I need a computerized machine that has all the bells and whistles and embroidery and stuff

Others have said I need a good used mechanical machine that will have fewer functions but be more durable.

I am completely new to the sewing world, having only stitched a few things by hand and sewn on a few buttons (and done a little cross-stitch as a child). I really want to get into sewing, and there aren’t any sewing classes offered in my area, so I will have to teach myself. I am leaning towards a Brother machine, but I am not opposed to other brands. I want a machine that is computerized, sews, does embroidery, and monograms. It would be great if it had a USB port or SD card. I have googled and youtubed and googled more. I’ve checked amazon and every other online store out there, but I still can’t find a decent comparison chart. Can anyone recommend a good chart or even better, recommend a machine that would suit my needs? I don’t want the cheapest machine out there, but I don’t want the most expensive one either. I will be using the machine mostly for making clothes for the family.

I was watching this video on youtube where a woman is using a sewing machine and it is connect to her laptop and she is able to design her cloth with her computer. The one thing that I would like to know is what kind of software does she use to design her work. Can somebody please help?

I am an experienced seamstress. I have a good mechanical Kenmore machine, but would like to have one with self threading needle and self winding bobbin. Am looking at a sears computer model for under $400. I really don’t need all the embroidery stitches, but would like the other features. Any suggestions out there?

I currently have a mechanical sewing machine that I purchased about 15 years ago. I would like to upgrade but I’m not all into embroidery and such. I just want to use it to sew over any fabric and maybe have a few more interesting stitches than a zig zag. What do you suggest. I am a novice at sewing so I want something good.

I would like to learn how to fix my own computerized sewing machines and embroidery machines. I can’t seem to find out information on this. Baby Lock say’s I need to work for a dealer to get trained. I live way to far away to work for a dealer. Can anyone help me with this one?
I know I can go to a dealer or place that fixes sewing machines but I have to travel too far. There is no one in my area of 50 square miles that I can train with. Is there another way to learn how to do this?

I have decided to buy a Brother home computerized sewing and embroidery machine after reading a lot of reviews. Can anyone help me decide which model I should buy? I intend to set up a small home business embroidering T-shirts of my own design for sale. I don’t know how to sew but I believe I can come up with some pretty interesting designs using the computer software. I cannot ask my husband although he is able to help me as he does not believe I can do it. I have not done much with my life and so his lack of confidence in me. Can anybody reassure me that I can learn this although I can’t sew a stitch?

Would a person need classes to learn how to use one? Or can they just learn by practice?
