I have been sewing for over 50 years but just got a new computerized Brother machine. It has an embroidery attachment and I love it. Have already used that feature alot. But..when I try to do regular sewing the fabric puckers up. i have tried to reset the tension several different ways, removed and replaced the bobbin, changed needles etc. The stitches look ok from the top and the bottom, but everything puckers. Do I have to use different thread than what am used to? Just good old Coats and Clark.

I’m looking for an Embroidery machine, to make faces on pluses i sew, but i cannot find one that is less then 200 dollars.

Is there a decent one that costs less then 100? or at least 200? i prefer a wide area to sew.

Do I still need the special software to download embroidery patterns to use on my machine?

okay so if you’ve seen Lulu of FF and you know the flower trim on her skirt and sleeves, where can I buy the flower trim? or can i make it myself? I don’t have an embroidery machine so any other suggestions? I do have a sewing machine, it’s a basic sewing machine. if i make them what kind of fabric can i use? how do i and please give instructions. also what is her pet/ plushie called?

I have a Viking Designer 1 I’m trying to use the embroidery unit for the first time, but my machine is only sewing in crooked vertical lines that are really close to each other (and I’m trying to do a flower), although the little cross on the screen shows it’s moving all over the image. It’s like it’s not moving the hoop very much.
Any idea what could be wrong with it? I followed all the directions in the book and even re read them a few times…

I am a beginner and would like to get a machine primarily for home use monogramming shirts etc, and most importantly doing applique designs which I can download online. I know that means I need one with USB connectivity, but didn’t know the best model to go with for the best price. I know the Janome MB-4 would do everything I need it to, but wondered if there was a cheaper model or brand. I do not plan on using the machine for sewing, but wouldn’t be against getting a combo deal as long as it would meet my embroidery needs. Thanks!

I’m looking for a sewing machine that will be compatible with Wilcom SE 2006, where I can just copy and paste a picture off the web and run it from my windows machine without having to use memory cards? Is this possible? I can’t afford a high end machine and I inherited the software so I thought I would try to see if it was feasable. Thanks for any help

im trying to use the embroidery part of my sewing machine and the part that attaches to the machine for the actual embroidery i don’t know what to do after i attach it,,, i picked out the letters i want to use but cant seem to make it write the letters on my pillow case? help me please?

It’s a Domestic 762 Zig-zag machine, it’s all blue metal with red letters on it. It has some fancy embroidery stitches that it can do (hence the zig-zag name). I can’t seem to find anyone else on the internet that has one.

can not connect to sewing machine

I have a few cashmere sweaters that have a few holes in assorted places. I know I should just get rid of them, but I would like to put them to another use. I do have an embroidery sewing machine, so that is an option. and I can sew, so I could cut them and remake them. But I need to know more – Do I really need to make sure all of my woll sweaters get dry cleaned at once to make sure there is no more larvae around? What else do I need to watch out for?

I have a Brother LB-6800 PRW sewing/embroidery machine. I have only had it a few days, and now the auto thread cutter isn’t working right. It will cut the bobbin thread but not the top thread. Earlier it did get jammed up while doing an embroidery design, but seemed to work fine after we cleared it out. Now it isn’t cutting the top thread on embroidery or standard sewing when manually pushed or set to do automatically. I have tried to adjust the tension but doesn’t seem to make a difference in the thread cutting.
Have removed the bobbin and case, vacuumed entire area. It is still only cutting the bobbin thread. I did get it to cut the top thread only a couple of times while needle was in “middle” position instead of far left or far right. but 99% of the time it will not cut the top thread. And the cutting blade looks ok.

I have been wanting to purchase my own monogramming (Embroidery) machine. I do not sew or use sewing machines, but I would love to own my own embroidery machine to make items for myself o for gifts. I do not plan on making items to sell or anything….just personal use (bags, bath towels, t-shirts, etc….). Does anyone know a good machine to recommend to me? (I’m pretty sure I will have to buy a sewing/embroidery machine). Thanks!!!! Also, is embroidery machines hard to use (for someone that doens’t really have any experience with sewing machines).

I have never used an embroidery machine and would like one. I have a very old Bernina sewing machine which I love, but would it make more sense to buy a combo machine?
