can I just use a serger for when a pattern calls for a zig zag stitch?

all the diaper patterns I’ve been reading call for a zig zag stitch. Then the same patterns go on to say you can serge the edges if you want to. Yeah..i want to. Also I want to serge where it says to zog zag. I only have an industrial lockstitch machine and an industrial serger (hey…im a guy…gotta be industrial). So I’ve got a month to learn how to sew. Do I have to go out and get a zig zag stitch machine? Or can I just use my serger? Thanks! :-)

How can I make 2 pound polyurethane urethane foam?

I just bought a hot tub/spa. It doesn’t have a cover and I don’t have $150-380 to shell out for one. That’s more than I paid for the spa! I have some industrial marine vinyl and the machine to sew it. I was looking at the 2 part kits that you pour and even those are expensive. Why can’t I just buy the chemicals and mix them myself? It doesn’t have to be as precise as the Coast Guard compliant since it won’t be holding up a marine craft. I just need something that’ll keep the heat in without mildewing and this the stuff they’re made of.Anybody know what chemicals and how much to mix in order to replicate these two part kits? Please, don’t be stupid and give me useless answers like “Google it.”. Nobody likes that. Otherwise, thanks!!!
That is very helpful, thank you. I’ll keep trying ebay but so far, everything I’ve found on there is more expensive than the pour it yourself kits.

Please check my work! No one else will!?

Please check these problems and correct me if any are wrong! I need an A on this test! please help!

What is the most dangerous modern industrial product?

By volume of casualties and personal injuries.
National Statistics state that 2834 peolpe died after the Twin Towers Collapsed, 1833 people died from building related defects in hurricane Katrina, and Auto and all modes of transportation casualties are in the tens of thousands, annually. Do B) through M) compare, when on the topic of Danger?
The answers to this question reflects a common misconception, that buildings and roads, dams, tunnels, etc; are not an industrial product.

They function opposite of a car, tv, boat, etc; in that they are designed to resist forces, instead of traveling through forces and elements of nature.

So, I’m going to choose a best answer, on the premise that hopefully, the Answers Community, and all People are thinking along the lines that the most critical industrial products in our lives are shelters, containers, protective barriers, and so on. Without clothing, buildings, car and additional modes of transportation bodies and body-frames, we would still be riding horses, chasing food, and living nomadic lifestyles, moving from summer temporary camps to winter retreats, over and over again.

The one element lacking in structure design and assembly to be able to build Communities on the Moon and in the Oceans is Developed, ready to go! Are you Fired Up!!!

The first 5 actually do resemble TG’s first 2 albums, but they never get to the sound of “20 Jazz Funk Greats”

Also – this band is similar to “Current 93″

In short — I’d start with the 1st Release.

This question is about product durability, not about who makes it or uses it. It is about how well does the product perform, how well does it hold up under heavy usage or harsh conditions.
I would have placed this question in the category of ‘Inventions’, if it was included in Answers. I am a historian on inventions, as a pasttime, and like to discuss which ones are better, still in use, creating additional technologies, and so on. Hope this helps in how to answer the question. the eggster.
Alan, good answer, but not exactly what I’m looking for. I agree with you about furniture getting cheaper and watered down with quick-assembly designs.

I’m more interested in structure frames posing as shelters in our lives. I grant you that when hurricane Katrina wiped out all those homes and commercial buildings in 2005, that there was more numbers of furniture pieces that were destroyed, too!

As a new way to protect building frames has been developed and is in an awareness campaign, currently, I’m trying to get a feel for who and how many people consider having wind-proof homes and collision-proof cars is a good thing. This means that we all have to recognize that there is a problem with current building and car frames, and that we want a better product from the manufacturerers.

In this way, when the product developer of these new systems says that his developed by-product has an element of improvement, readers of the product literature has more meaning.

Antique Sewing macine?

I have an antique sewing machine. It is not the a typical machine. I have asked this question before and everyone seems to think that it is an average treadle machine.
This one is made by Singer. It stands approx 4 1/2 feet tall. It is not in a table. It was made in 1896 and is an industrial machine, Model 7. It weights an easy 300lbs.
I am looking for any information that I can possibly find.
I have already tried to google it and have contacted Singer. I am trying to find someone who may also know about this rare machine.
I would like to know what its value might be and if there is a manual for this machine. It even has what is believed to be the original belt. It looks as if it was made for sewing leather. Singer does not have this info. All that they could tell me is the date that it was made and the model number.
Please help.

Problems sewing velvet cushions?

Does anyone have a solution? I’m finding it really difficult to complete a box cushion because the velvet just moves around so much. Also I’m using an industrial sewing machine which goes like the wind & isn’t making things any easier. The seams of the cushion just seem to move against each other because of the velvet pile so the top of the cushion doesn’t end up in the right places. Many thanks in advance for your answers:-)

Is there a universal gathering foot for all sewing machines or is there one specifically for the Juki? All the searches that I’ve done resulted in a gathering foot for the Juki serger but not Industrial sewing machine.

Is anyone an expert on oldish all metal machines?

I’m looking for sewing machine advise. I want to buy an all metal, industrial strength sewing machine with, lots of power, high foot lift and zig zag.

There are so many choices!

Any recommendations? Brands to stay away from? How much power does the motor need? Inboard or back mounted motor?
How old is too old? How new is too new?

Any help will be greatly apreciated.

I am using a BabyLoc Decorator’s Choice and it is adequate – but not the greatest. There are so many makes and models of industrial machines – don’t know where to begin.

Is a water frame and sewing machine an industrial invention? What are some? PLEASE HELP!?
