I have a janome dc 3050 and would like to get a machine with more features but I also have an embroidery machine brother pe 150 not alot of software I have been sewing mostly guilting for about a year now and can’t decide what to go to next

i sadly had to sell my sewing machine that i dearly loved it was a Janome Memory Craft 4900QC when i decided to close my dress making business. iam now looking for a sewing machine just for me to make the odd item.i want a machine with a serger stitch similar to my old machine and also a stretch stitch. im not interested in the embroidery stitchs anymore im just looking for something to make tshirts and bits and bobs on.does anyone have a suggestion im looking to spend about £200 i dont want anything fancy.

Can I use any polyester or cotton thread in the bobbin of my embroidery machine?
I have just bought a Janome 300e and not too sure which bottom threads are the best to use, do you have to use special bobbin thread, it seems quite expensive compared to normal sewing thread.

I will probably spend around $600. to $700. I know how to sew, though I am by no means a pro, and my daughter wants to learn so she will take some classes.
