I’ve seen this ad multiple times about a great opportunity to buy some Necchi Sew&Serge machines that were overproduced for educational institutions that ended up not buying them. I was wondering if someone had actually taken advantage of this deal and if it is for real.

This is a maintenance adjustment, and not just side-to-side position. The needle nicks the back of the opening in the plate. I have a vague notion it is a two-screw affair. Can’t find a precise manual source, but it’s a Kenmore 158.17560, and I think it’s made by Necchi. Accurate (maintenance, not user) manual source also vastly appreciated!
I would like to do this repair myself, since I know *basically* what’s wrong, and I’m not willing to shell out $$$ for such a simple fix!
Hi saaanen — yes, I changed the needle. I’m starting to wonder, though, if I’m hearing a click that’s coming from the gears. Things are a little stiff, so maybe I need to figure how to get the darn thing open and oil it!

the first time using my brand new Necchi machine, halfway thru the project the top thread stopped interlocking with the bobbin thread. i rethreaded the machine but now it won’t pick up the bobbin thread at all. any ideas why this is? and how to fix it?

I was given the above machine some time ago, and have just got round to cleaning and oiling it. It has no on/off switch, but it does have many embroidery stitches ‘automatic’, and ’super automatic’ stitches.
My problem is that I have cleaned and oiled it as well as I can, and inserted a needle, but I cannot get the needle thread to pick up the bobbin thread. I need to know which way the needle needs to go in, and which way the bobbin needs to go into the case.
Also, can anyone give me an idea of the model I have got, it seems too heavy for a domestic machine. There is a serial number, but the only visible identifying mark are the words Super Novum on the front.
I would appreciate any help at all.

i’ve tried everything!! the little round flat plate around the bobbin keeps coming out (don’t know if it’s supposed to or not), i line up the little tail thing with the corresponding groove, i make sure the thread is going clockwise, everything- i turn the needle by hand to engage the tread from the bobbin upward to get both threads aligned, with absolutely no luck. any seamstresses out there? this is my first attempt at sewing and i need to desperately hem some pants for work!!! thanks a million!!

As soon as I start trying to sew, the machine jams. As far as I can tell, I have the bobbin & top thread threaded correctly. My upper tension is set on 3. I need help. Can anyone think of anything that I can try to fix it?

hello! i just got this old old necchi BF sewing machine. the kind that comes with attached to a table and folds in and out. i cant figure out how to set up the electric stuff. am i missing a part? i have 2 plugs that run down from the ,machine. one for light and one that starts the machine. when i plug them into a regular outlet they go on. however i don’t want the machine running the whole time. theres an outlet that is attached to the side of the wooden table that says light and motor., im guessing the 2 plugs plug into it, but how do i plug the actual machine into the wall and give it power if i plug the 2 plugs into the outlet that’s going into the side of the table? (it runs cords to the pedal) i don’t understand. please help!

I bought the machine used and it didnt have a manual. its a one step buttonholer. I have two types of button hole feet from other machines but could not get them to work on this machine. One was for a riccar and the other for singer. I was hoping someone out there would have the same model. I have searched the enternet and all i have been able to find is manual for sale.
