I want to start making quilts and other things and I need to watch my pocket. Which one would you buy and why? and if you already have one what do you like and dislike about it. I’m just learning how to sew, so any advice would help. Thanks

My current machine is an ancient and rapidly dying Singer model that we managed to rescue from a skip a few years ago, so I would like to replace it. My budget is probably £300 and under, I make mostly (but not exclusively) clothing/costumes, and tend to do very big projects about once every three months.
I’d quite like one with a range of decorative stitches, buttonholes, etc… is it too naive to imagine that there might be something in my price range that can be connected to a PC for embroidery purposes?
Any help would be appreciated, as I’ve never bought anything like this before.

My mom bought an embroidery machine and we are having trouble figuring out something.
She has a Futura Singer Design software disk, but she thought she could make her own designs, and these are premanufactured designs.
I tried and tried, and I have no idea how to import new ones, so if anyone is familiar with this program, let me know!
And if you know of any other softwares out there that you can install on Windows and design your own, let me know!
[ use a MAC, but most of these programs don't take MAC and Windows is pretty weird for me......]
Thanks in advance!!!!

Brother SE 350 Sewing and Embroidery Machine
Singer CE 350 Sewing and Embroidery Machine
If you have some knowledge about both, please remember to give a reason in comparison such as, cheaper machine, easier to use, better quality, better specs, better embroidery, brand is better than other, etc. (Whatever you can think of…) This is also a Brother vs Singer question.
Thanks =^.^=

I’m looking into buying this because it’s the only one that Costco sells. Let me know if any of you have had any problems with it or if you’re happy with it. I have been sewing for 7 years and have never owned a serger before. A few very experienced sewers encouraged me to buy a serger rather than an embroidery machine.

I have been wanting a sewing machine that embroiders/monograms for personal use. Can some of you sewers suggest one that is not too terribly expensive? Since I won’t be using it for anything other than personal stuff, I can’t possibly spend a whole lot on one. I have a Singer Izek that will embroider but it’s really small letters.

Hi,
I recently lost my faithful Singer sewing machine of over 23 years that I use for quilting, home decor and general mending projects. I need to replace it Do you recommend Singer, Bernina or Brother? Why and what model. I do both hand quilting and machine quilting and can’t spend a huge amount of money. ($ 300. max) Computerized is good and I will use some specialized stiches but I’m not the embroidery queen or anything. I do want auto thread feed and auto buttonhole maker. Thanks guys!

I’ve never used an embroidery machine before, but I would like to learn. I have used sergers quite a few times, and im more than familiar with regular sewing machines, I’m looking for a top quality serger and embroidery machine to use. I don’t want it to be “good enough” for just home use coz I’m a fashion design student so I’m being trained to use professional quality machines because of the type of work I will be doing – so I wanna get a professional quality serger and embroidery machine as well
I already have a regular sewing machine – Singer – And I love it! it’s great. So I don’t care if the embroidery machine I end up getting can also sew regularly or not.
But what I wanna know is what are some good brands of sergers and embroidery machines that have a ton of features that I can use? I’m not worried that much about the cost because I’m looking for quality.
Jo-Anns has a lot of Viking Husqvarna machines – do they perform as good as they’re advertised?
Thanks everyone in advance for your help!

I started sewing a couple of months ago and I am really getting into it; I love it. I really would like to do embroidery, initials and maybe butterflies, cute little things for children’s clothing and quilts. I am not sure what to buy though! When I bought my first sewing machine I bought a Singer Tradition. It was just an $80 simple machine so I could see if I would like it. Now I see that you can buy embroidery/sewing combos. Should I buy one of those or just buy a separate embroidery machine? Is there a brand out there better than the other, or certain things I should look for? I really want to try and keep it less than $400. Do you think it is possible to buy a quality embroidery machine for less than that? Thanks!

I was wondering if anyone has this Brother sewing and embroidery machine, Innov-ís 1200. What are your likes and dislikes? Also I am fairly new to sewing. I mostly sew easy things like blankets and burp cloths, ect, nothing fancy. I really like sewing but don’t know where to start. I figure if I’m getting a new machine, (I have a broken Singer right now) that maybe I should spend the money and get something good. I am also looking at the Brother SE270D. Any advise would be great. Thank you all in advance

My sewing machine has a lot of “built in stitches” besides monogram…I was wondering if I could use it for embroidery..
I hate to have to have a special machine for the little bit of embroidery that I would want to do…
