The bobbin with not hold a tight stitch I have tried restringing it several different ways and the stitching is still to loose what can I do to have a good stitch

I was given a Touch and Sew Zig Zag model 758 by my husbands grandmother. I removed the bobbin case to clean out lint from the machine and now I cannot seem to replace it. The machine needs other repairs I think. The needle does not line up with the hook?
